I Did What??

I'm 100% positive, that I've told you this before. I don't cook. Actually, I don't know how to cook. Plain. Simple. True.

Robbie cooks. He's a great cook! One of the reasons, why I fell in love with him! ;) How could I not love a man, that would regularly cook me dinner? So yes, my hubby does most of our cooking. Even though he works, full time. And I stay home....

In the end, I'm positive that my hubby is happy with this. Why? Because I'm horrible at cooking! I started a fire once. In a cooking class, that I was in. In college! After that, my professor stood right next to me. In fear that I'd burn down the building. :(

What was I thinking when I invited over some friends? And not for just any 'ol dinner. Thanksgiving dinner! What the heck was going on in my head??

I've stressed about 20 times since. I've looked up local restaurants. Some are serving amazing meals!! Why don't we just go out for dinner?? No work. No chance of food poisoning. All will be happy. But oh yeah. I invited my peeps over.

I don't cook. So this could be a major problem. Then I came across this blog post. YES!! Thank you Mallory. :) Robbie brought us a fresh turkey. Yes, my hubby went turkey hunting. So he's in charge of the bird. 'Cause I might be married to this hunting cowboy. But heck if I know how to pluck this bird. Or cook it!

This is our first official Thanksgiving. You know, we're not traveling to our familes' homes. We're staying here. By ourselves. And hosting our friends! Pray for all of us. I'm hoping this turns out ok. And yes, I did order 10 pies. 8 from the local university. And 2 from Village Inn. Dang, I want to dig into them right now. Instead, I need to go call Lola. I need some sort of timeline to follow tomorrow....

They're All Here....

My hubby cracks me up! The minute he heard the news about Twinkies, he hit the stores. We live in a little town. Come on peeps! We've only got so many stores. But Robbie was on a mission last week. He must have went to every store in town. And his loot?? 26 boxes of Twinkies!! Sorry to all those that live in the area. Yeah, we've got all the Twinkies here....

I could be a good wife, and try to bake some up. But there are 2 things wrong with that idea. 1. My husband adores opening the packages. Something about those plastic packages. 2. I wouldn't even know where to begin, baking something like. 3. A bonus for you who don't know me. My kitchen and I, are more like enemies than BFFs. Lola can you help? 'Cause it could be bad for everyone, when Robbie runs out of his favorite treats....

Yum!

I have a  little confession to make here. I'm addicted to the cherry Hershey Kisses. Majorly addicted! It all started out with my friend Lola. She brought over a bag. Like 6 years ago! The band was having rehearsal. That particular night, the band decided to have a dinner first.

The band went back to rehearsing. My girlfriends and I, we dug into the desserts. These little treats, were an instant hit with me! This was during winter. I managed to find 2 bags that year. I put one in the freezer. Ate the other. By April, I was so sad....

In the years since, I've stalked Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and Albertsons. Every year, I manage to buy a few bags. I got lucky, about 2 years ago, and these became more regular. As in, I bought them a few times, that year.

It's that time of year again. Actually, I wasn't even looking for these bad boys. They were sorta looking for me. :) I went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. And as I walked by a stack of boxes, they were stocking the shelves, 4 bags fell out of the box. Um, hello! I took that as a 'sign.'

I bought 12 bags. I know! Please don't remind me. Robbie asked what I bought, when I got home. With a grin from year to year, I showed him my loot. I know that my dear hubby doesn't understand. But whatevs. I've got my favorite treats. Double bagged, and in the freezer. I'm thinking, this stash should last me til summer. Heck, who are we kidding? I'll be lucky to make it to spring, with a bag. :)
